The Dwarfs of (not Orc)Lord

This challenge offers an interesting opportunity to rehabilitate a bunch of old models that have been festering in the leadpit for several years, and to close a couple of other holes in my Dwarven horde.
The list isn't a legal 3rd edition Army on its own, that would need a bunch of crossbows, and the clansmen should be (40) warriors, but consists of stuff that I want to get painted.
In use these would be supplemented by other units from my shelves, some of which may get their bases updated to match.

 Dwarf Contingent - 909 points
1 Dwarf Battle Wright (General)
30 Dwarf Clansmen, with standard, musician and champion
1 Stone Thrower with 6 crew - using the Grenadier 9007 Dwarf Cannon as a proxy
6x2 Sappers

Old Worlder Allies - 380 points

1 Leader
5 Chevaliers Errant (Noblesse D'Epee)
5 Border Horse (Chasseurs de la Mort)

Unfortunately Army Builder doesn't have a list for the Old Worlders, so this uses the Bretonnian list. I may end up painting a few more than the 5 of each unit listed here.

All of which comes to bit more than 1000 points.

A confession

The other piece of heresy is that I'm not starting with fully stripped models, I have a number of existing painted Dwarfs that used the old thinned paint as a stain over white primer technique. They are now very faded looking, but I like to preserve the original owner's intent and so will repaint them following the original colour scheme. The Bretonnians will have to be stripped completely and start again, and may gain wire spears in the process.

  1. Nice work. Looks like you were productive at Oldhammer in the Jerz, despite our best efforts! In many ways I find that 'touching up' older paint jobs is just as much work (if not more) as stripping the model and starting over.

  2. Fantastic to have you aboard Richard. Should we call you Dwarf Lord? I don't have any problem with resuscitating old paint jobs. I don't know much about the Old Worlder list, where does it appear? I've wanted to tinker with the Army Builder Data files but haven't put the time in yet to learn the syntax. I hope one day to get a more 3rd edition anything goes data base as well as thought of an RT data base. Not that anyone normally makes lists for that.
