Yosef's Estalians/Araby (286pts)

Ok so here is the beginning of the army, as I did not have so much time to paint this month, mostly due to reorganize all my hobby space...( and they were a lot of miniatures...) I went for the arabic/estalian part of the army.

So first we have 6 estalian caballeros with standard, musician and a hero lvl 5. They are all equipped with just shield. This comes to 110 for the 5 guys, an extra 44 for musicians and 39 for a  hero lvl 5    ( the sheik) so to a total of 193. For that unit i used the al muktar's riders. i enjoyed a lot painting the raiders with inks, but did not enjoyed or liked the final results on the horses, there are a bit of bland models...

Then i continued with a small 6 hombres villanos unit. The miniatures i used were 3 estalains swordsman, Pizarro's musician, mydas the mean and Yadosh. This is 5 hombres with musician and another lvl 5 hero(mydas) this comes out to 93 points. Originally this was going to be only 5 but seeing mydas getting painted i needed to paint his brother, and also due to receiving another lot, with yodash i had enough Arab models to make an initial Araby mordheim war band. So he was thrown out of his small chariot...

As the pair were finished and i had a little extra time I painted the chariot too, that it would count as the army supply wagon for whooping 0 points! But for some scenarios it'll be hilarious, what more typical that some misfits defending their treasure?  Not so happy in how the coffer turned out but i got too many other completely unpainted miniatures to do, and it is fine for the meantime, maybe black and gold or white and gold would have been better.  Next week i think i ll be focusing on the shooting units with the tilean crossbowmen and estalian handgunners.

Also another point on the basing why that annoying agrax earth sometimes cracks nicely and sometimes not at all. Still undecided if the borders i ll repaint black or fill better with the agrax i ll see while the army progress.

  5. Very interesting models, I am not at all familiar with them. The pink(?) treasure chest is interesting. One note on photography. It looks like your light is above and behind your figures. This causes the front of your figures to appear dark in shadow. Try, if you can, to position the light from the front.
