Jaeckel's Dwarfs - Conclusion

Well that's it! Thanks to Iannick and  the OWAC, I've finally painted some of my puff and stash Marauder dwarfs (and of course, bought some new models to maintain the pile of shame at the same level...).

I can't remember exactly when the idea occured to me that mercenary dwarves from the Grey Mountains could be seen as soldiers of the Old Swiss Confederacy, but flipping several illustrated chronicles (the Tschachtlanchronik, the Chronicon Helvetiae, Part I, Part II and Part III, and the Luzerner Schillling) convinced me that I could limit my palette to primary colors and paint a whole army with them.

The halberdiers of the Frostpeak hold have been processed using Berne's colors, replacing the original bear by a boar:

The pikemen of the BlackHorns clan have been painted using the colors of the Canton of Uri:

The crossbowmen of the FrostBeards clan wear the colors of the Canton of Zurich:

And finally, each bodyguard of the paymaster defends the interests and the colors of his own clan:

Speaking of the paymaster, this model turned my planning upside down, as I spent one full month to build the cart to carry the paychest of the Company. 

And here is the final results after 6 months: a small force of 45 models (including the mule!) and a little more than 1000 points.

Once again, I've enjoyed the trip, and savored every entry of my fellow challengers.

See you next year hopefully! Can't tell with what, but definitely something from the Warhammer Armies book!
