Nathan’s first batch of ‘stealers (plus some extras) (No points until the end for reasons)

Like usual I just managed to paint the minimum number of models this month. But in saying that I did figure out the best way to paint the various figures I want to paint for the challenge and also got some of a start on February’s figures which will help. My army is based on the genestealer cult army list in White Dwarf 116 so I can’t provide point costs until the end of the challenge. If you have that list you will know what I mean; if not in brief the reason is because in the list you pay a flat point cost for dice rolls which determine, to a degree at least, what forces you can field. Anyway enough crapping on from me; here are the figures.

Two daemonettes and a slaanesh beastman

The hybrids, daemonettes and beastman were fun to paint; the ‘stealers not so much. Re the latter it isn’t because I don’t like the figures, rather I found it difficult picking out some of the details especially some of the areas where the difference between the carapace and underlying skin isn’t very clear. From here in I will stick to 4 pure strain figures a month maximum so I don’t get too bogged down painting them. The hybrids on the other hand were a real joy to paint and I’ve got 4 in the painting queue for February. Oh and the plan is to paint up enough of these figures to play Space Hulk and Advanced Space Crusade, the box for the latter serving as my crappy backdrop.
