Quin’s Rainbow Vale - Rainbow Trolls!!! (727 Points)

Rank & File III

With a sudden move coming halfway through the challenge I set out a handful of figures to paint before everything was boxed up. These C20 trolls are a big part of why I decided to paint an Orc & Goblin… err Orc & Troll army this year so I thought that they would be a nice small project to focus on. Indeed they were. All lovely models that are incredible to paint.

My only complaint is that I wasn’t sure what colors to use on them, as the last unit of trolls was pretty varied. Since these are a set I think they would look f#cking amazing all painted in the same tones. Unfortunately I couldn’t decide which color of trolls I prefer, and ended up with a rainbow of Trolls. They do all look nice, and the polka-dotted sashes really pull the lot together, but they definitely don’t look like they belong together in a unit 😞

Anyhow, without further ado, the 2nd C20 Trolls!

Skuttlescree Soresmeer

Davogrod Gutsucker

Shakined Bone-Bender

Rattlebones Bowlegs

Grog Stuntycrusher

Hobol Firebreath

I’ve still got a bit of work to do on these critters, as I noticed a few small things I’d like to do some renovations on, and I still need to get their basing finished. Since all of my supplies are packed away I will likely get to it with the next batch of figures. Speaking of which, I think next month I will try to keep it light again while I get settled into a new job & crafting area. Either more orcs, or Leader month. Big thanks to Graeme for helping me source the last troll I needed to finish the set!

Before they all get stuffed away into safely packed boxes, here is a quick shot of my horde as it stands. See you all next month ✌️

5 Trolls - 65 Points Each

Level 15 Troll Hero with Double Handed Weapon - 257 Points

Level 5 Troll Shaman - 145 Points

Total for March - 727 Points

  1. Lovely Trolls! I'm still one short of collecting this set, looks like they will be fun to paint when I get them all :)

  3. Love the Rainbow trolls! Now you are in the Rainbow club with Thomas and me- all you need is a unicorn horned troll!

  4. Gribbly trolls! They look great and the polka dot scarves are a very oldhammer touch :)

  5. Really like the spotted cloth most of them are wearing, brings them together.

  6. The polka dots is an inspired choice! My favourite is Stuntycrusha, ha!

  7. That's a terrific mob of trolls dude and I love the names. Also they definitely look like a unit: the basing and the spots tie them together, regardless of their individual colours.

  8. I love this unit! I'm jealous of your C20 troll collection and I like the "rainbow" colors & polka-dots. I think it all looks good together. I know you're not finished with the bases, but I also like the muddy look of them with the colorful trolls.
