Tom's Dwarfs: Wrap Up

Originally I used this book...

...to work out the initial points of the models I was going to paint.

It occurs to me that all the models (bar the Dragon Slayer) are OLD(er)HAMMER, and as such the requisite points and composition should be used.

Here's my revised list of completed OWAC2 models using this classic book:

I have enough variations of models to represent different units, which is nice, but I've just pumped for this revised load out as I can't be doing with working out multiple lists.

(As a heads up I've gone for some level 15 champs, as it makes them independent :) Also, MAX points for the general. Why not. I love this army, so it deserves a King to lead it.

I've also drafted in a good friend to help me with photos, and he deserves the credit for making the best out of a very poor set up. Thank you Michal Iwanowski - you legend!)

Deep breath, comfy seat, possible tea with biscuit, and we'll begin breaking this down....

CHARACTERS :  875

208... 1 General (Hold Master - level 25 Hero)

203... 1 Wizard (Lore Delver - level 15 Wizard)

128... 1 Cleric (counts as level 15 Hero)

80... 1 Gnome Wizard (Gnome Rodwielder - level 15 Hero)

128... 1 Giant Slayer (Grave Hunter - level 15 Hero)

Champions:
128... 1xlevel 15

88... 1xlevel 10

192... 4xlevel 5

I don't have separate photos of these - they're just part of the unit shots :)

50...1xlevel 5 + double handed weapon

This is the Troll Slayer Champion - included in the unit shot :)

TOTAL Characters: 875

RANK AND FILE : 1306

………..23 Warriors, hand weapons, light armour, shields: 253

………..+ musician, light armour, shield: 21
………..+ standard, light armour, shield: 21
295 : unit total

(edit: I see I've used the standard somewhere else...)

………..22 Warriors, hand weapons, light armour, shields: 242

………..+ musician, light armour, shield: 21
………..+ standard, light armour, shield: 21
284 : unit total

………..12 Longbeards, hand weapons, heavy armour, shields: 168

………..+ musician, heavy armour, shield: 28
………..+ standard, heavy armour, shield: 28
224 : unit total

..............15 Hammerers, hand weapon and double handed weapon, heavy armour, shields: 225

..............+ musician, hand weapon and double handed weapon, heavy armour, shield: 32
………..+ standard, hand weapon and double handed weapon, heavy armour and shield: 32
289 : unit total

………..10 Crossbowmen, crossbow and hand weapon, light aarmour: 130
130 : unit total

..............11 Troll Slayers, hand weapon : 88

88 : unit total

WAR MACHINES : 513

……….Goblobber, goblin ammo, 3 crew with light armour: 79

……….Bolt Thrower, 3 crew with light armour: 72
……….Cannon, 3 crew with light armour: 69
……….Cannon, 3 crew with light armour: 69
……….Cannon, 3 crew with light armour: 69
……….Flame Cannon, 3 crew with light armour: 119

Here's a photo dump of all the machines and all the crew. To make the crew numbers work, half the 6 crew who came with the goblobber are now impromptu cannon crew...

Recap:

875...Characters (32.5%)
1306...Rank and File (48.5%)
513...War Machine (19%)

2694...TOTAL ARMY POINTS VALUE...2694

Now this load out does not meet the army points requirements in some aspects.

For example, only 2 cannons per army are allowed, 20-60 crossbowmen allowed (not 10), and 50% of the army points needs to be spent on rank and file.
However:
I can easily reconfigure this to make a legal 1000point army. Maybe even several :)

Here's a group shot of the OWAC2 army!

Scatter pieces:

2 Mantlets

1 Horse with Handler
1 Soup Pot
1 The Meat (a stand-in goblobber scatter piece)
1 Treasure Chest
2 Treasure Piles

I did forget to ask for the horse to be photographed. Sad times. Also, I think these pics are unedited, and also cropped from a larger photo...

Aaaaaaanyway!

Here is me with all 147 of the crew :)

So...this OWAC2 army now makes up nearly half of my existing dwarf Hold. For those who are curious, here's a TOTAL army shot.

All in all it's been a hell of a ride. I've painted up much more than I thought I ever would.
Very many thanks to Iannick for letting me join, and orchestrating//overseeing the whole thing and all whilst planning the wedding. CONGRATULATIONS!!, and a massive congratulations to all the fellow challengers! All their armies look fabulous!

Until next time then, much love

Cheers!
