Well the army is done! There were definitely many points along the way where I didn't think I was going to make it, but now I have a 1000 point Bretonnian army I didn't have before.
Here is the output for April.
A total of 10 things.
3 Nobblesse D'Epee 75 points and the Marquis (10th level hero) Frederic Cobert for 66 points. The Black Knight with White bar is on the Horse I received from Richard "Orclord" Hale. A big thanks for that. They all had some fit issues that I had to address with putty under the saddle.
The cannon I had from ages ago and it came with the three crew pictured, 60 points. They had quite a bit of flash to clean up and the gunner, on the right, seemed to have his mold offset or something. He had a big, 1 - 2mm, difference between his halves along the mold line that was a pain to fix.
Lastly we have Louis and Benoit Chagnon. They are labelled as Laborers on their tabs and came with the cannon crew. I decided to use them as camp/baggage followers so they aren't worth any points. I had fun painting the Tattoo on Benoit's chest.
My hope is to whip up a baggage element and maybe even a War Altar for the final Army shot, we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for looking.
Beautiful work to finish it off! I especially like the checkerboard horse and rider- all of them are lovely actually!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lissanne.
DeleteWell done dawg!
ReplyDeleteThanks Airborne.
DeleteWell done mate. I know you struggled at times but that just makes the victory all the sweeter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Millsy, I think part of what makes the hobby rewarding is overcoming the challenges.
Deletenicely done, Sean. The heraldry is great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anthony, perhaps in the future I'll work on my freehand more.
DeleteThose knights are phenomenal mate!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mus. The really hard part is getting past the feeling that they're complete shit to the final touches and feeling they aren't terrible.
DeleteExcellent work on the checkerboard knight!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Iannick, somehow the checkerboard got a tad skewed. The knight sitting on it makes it less obvious.
DeleteYou killed it. Painting Brets scares me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Xin. The real trick is establishing a few base colors and then going through the various possibilities of how they would go together. I had to make a list at one point to make sure I didn't accidentally repeat a motif/color combination.
DeleteNice job!
