JamesP Chaos Renegades of Khorne - Month 5

Hello everyone!

This month has been my favorite so far. I got these tanks from a close friend. They were in pretty bad shape, painted by him in his (very) early teens. After a proper bath in Bio-Strip they were ready to be re-built. Here they are finished and ready for the table-top. It was a hard to choose between a clean finish or battle worn tanks. I decided on the former as the rest of my army is crisp and cleanly painted.

Sadly, I didn’t get to finish the bike squad from the month I took a molly. I hope I can add them to my Character month…Fingers crossed!

Land Raider – 250pts

Predator – 200pts

Total – 450pts

And here they are!

Fresh from the manufactorium!

Graeme's Skaven - May - Rank and File #4 (75 points)

Graeme's Skaven - May - Rank and File #4 (75 points)

Well, May was the first month where I felt confident that I'd finish my monthly contribution. Unfortunately, things were busy at work in the last week and I didn't really have time to get the finishing touches done, yet again. So it's a pretty basic look for some of this motley crew, but it keeps me in the race... with the finishing line in sight!

May's contribution of 10 Clanrats:

Luckily, rounding things off with my leader month should give me enough time to catch up on all those shields, details and finishing touches I've missed over the last few month, so I'm aiming to make sure the final results will significantly better.

10 Clanrats, armed with a hand weapon, spear and (still to be painted) shield - 75 points

Breaking my monthly total record yet again with a whopping 75 points!

I've made a start on a couple of the leader models already, and have a couple of ideas for bonus models, so am looking forward to putting together the final lineup.

The Mongrel Horde - Nathan’s last rank and file month

Ah the finish line is well within sight. And what a sight it is. I must admit I have been struggling with motivation to paint figures for the challenge the last month or so. But with the end in sight my motivation has returned. That has seen me get into painting my last team for the challenge which is the mongrel horde whilst finishing off the remaining figures for my storm bolts team for dungeonbowl. I also painted a test figure for the dwarf warhammerers team that I plan to do in the months following the challenge. Enough crapping on from me, here they are:

Sam's All Star Blood Bowl League - Champions of Death

This month is the first one where I had a bit of a procrastinate due to the models. Basically the original scheme for the Champions of Death just wasn’t to my liking. the colours are okay, but there just isnt enough of them and the parts feel forced. So I really felt it just doesn’t fit the models quite right, it’s a little bit too one dimensional. So that delayed me a bit and required a bit of trial and error before I was happy. In the end it was just a matter of adding another spot colour and accentuating certain features that were overlooked in the originals paintjob in favour of simplicity.

Anyhow, in the end I think they turned out pretty bangin’ so I’m happy with them.

I saved my fave team for last as a final stretch motivational booster. So on to the humans (yes I’m a basic bitch). The promised land is in sight! Let’s do this!

Peace out

Samuel

Quin’s Debaucherous Dwarfs - The Gold Rolls *Wild Card* (310)

Scraping by again, this month I finished up some stragglers from the previous unit of dwarfs with double handed weapons.

C16 Lufin Bristlebeard &
Chaos Dwarf Renegade Pulper Spikehead

An additional dwarf spell caster, I’ll count this as a level 15 chaos dwarf cleric.

C16 Finehorn Deathscream

And the star of the month, an asscannon from oldschoolminis. Counted as a chaos dwarf three man cannon for the time being. It’s point value is particularly accurate for this project 😎

“I’m in a Rolls Royce, look it’s so huge!”

2 Chaos Dwarfs w/ Heavy Armor & Double Handed Weapons 13 points each (26)

Level 15 Chaos Dwarf Cleric w/ Heavy Armor, Hand Weapon & Shield (215)

3 Man Chaos Dwarf Cannon (69)

Total for May - 310 Points

Ian's Mordheim - Three flagellants and the Geisslerlieder

Pie jesu Domine, Dona Eis Requiem
Pie jesu Domine, Dona Eis Requiem
Pie jesu Domine, Dona Eis Requiem

On blistered feet
Still marching on
Hands held in prayer
All hope is gone

Lash on your back
With pure intent
Welts on your skin
The punishment

Raise your whip and flay your flesh
Join our congregation
True believers come with us
In corporeal damnation

To feel glory
When sinew is stripped from bone
And to feel closer
To he who made this our life

Embracing the shame
Of sins that you've seen
It won't go away
You are so unclean

The pain and the guilt
It all seems so sad
The penance is just
Or deeds gone mad

Raise your whip and flay your flesh
Join our congregation
True believers come with us
In corporeal damnation

To feel glory
When sinew is stripped from bone
And to feel closer
To he who made this our life

So many lies to bestow upon yourself
Smiling through tears and screams
With wounds so fresh
Guilt ridden, all for nothing, wretched still
Mortification of the sinful flesh

Raise your whip and flay your flesh
Join our congregation
True believers come with us
In corporeal damnation

Edit: As I already painted a leader in each warband, this entry will count as my "leader month".

Chris Pridmore's Wildcard Month - The Eternity of Iron

Chaos Dreadnought = 135pts

This model came to me in a woeful state, and took a fair bit of restoration. For example, the hips had to be rebuilt with plastic rod, and the flail needed replacing entirely. Like so many of it's contemporaries, this dread was missing the central spike at the top, so I replaced it with a mace head - perhaps that was the occupant's favored weapon when he walked amongst the living. Paint-wise, I tried to keep it looking brutish and functional, with a few nods to models from previous month.
