Ratwig's Mercenary Samurai Lord on Kirin with Ninja (270 points)

For April's submission, I present Sekiguchi Toru, Mercenary Samurai Lord riding a Kirin with his trusty Ninja problem solver, Moto. They point out as follows:

  • Level 20 Mercenary Samurai Lord (107) on Kirin (+75) with hand weapon (magic but no points included as required by OWAC rules), heavy armor (+1) and long bow (+3), total: 186 points.
  • Ninja (80) with double handed weapon (+2), torinoko grenades (+1) and throwing stars (+1), total: 84 points.

The Kirin is a metal Reaper figure that originally had wings. I filled in the holes in its shoulders where the wings went with epoxy putty and added a brass rod horn to its forehead. I didn't really like the "rainbow pony" physical description in Warhammer Armies Bestiary, so I used the suggested color scheme I got from OWAC's Mr T. Rabbits - thanks! Lord Sekiguchi was modified by adding a hand holding a sword using brass wire drilled into the wrist where the original plastic spear went and epoxy putty for the armored gloved hand. The sword was constructed by cutting a piece of brass wire to length, pounding it flat for 2/3 of its length, filing to sword blade shape, adding a plastic hand guard and using epoxy putty for the pommel. The bow and arrows are from Dixon's miniatures Samurai range with the bow string made from copper wire.

Mr Moto, the Ninja, is a stock Citadel figure with no mods and painted in dark grey, brown and blue, but looks mostly clad in black once washed with Agrax Earth Shade.

That's it for this month. Now for a medicinal Jack or six...

Ratwig Out!

  5. All the work you put into the models really show. Probably the first Kirin I've seen, and you've done a great job on it. Definitely a worthy general for any army.
