Pokrzyw's Sisters of Battle - Month 6 - Leader Month [475pts]

"A single man with faith can triumph over a legion of the faithless. Untold billions of the faithful can never be opposed."

Plans for June.

After Mulligan month in May my plans were around finishing inquisitors with retinue. Entry level for June is visible on picture below.

Finishing additional sisters shall be bonus. Sisters from Month 3 were chosen.

Finally lack of canoness makes me sad, so i take small kitbash - seraphim leader with huge mechanical wings acts as a general for whole army (on the right).

Realization

As usual - entering month with procastrination level master, but last two weeks was busy..

Gallery

Points:

  • Canoness (jump pack, power sword, plasma pistol) 101
  • Redemptor Kyrinov, Arch-Confessor - 121
  • Missionary (shotgun) - 25

  • Wild card.. 10 models (2 inquisitors, 8+ henchmens)  ?

    TOTAL: 475

Whats' next?

I have still about fifteen ladies to paint. Maybe it would be a part of the wrap-up month. I plan also prepare some better photo session, maybe in the heat of battle.

Mustafa’s month IV: Rank and file #3, tank time!

As cool as jump pack marines are, they are somewhat lacking in the firepower department.

Figured it was time to give them something with a bit more “oomph” to it!

I printed this bad boy a while ago but never really had the opportunity to put him on an army. The last two marine armies I did were not particularly speedy, so this he didn’t really fit in with them, but hell be perfect for my Blood Angel Assault Army!

In OPR games I’ll probably run him as one of the new anti gravity tanks from GW as he’s far too large to be a regular landspeeder. In games or 2nd edition I’ll probably run him as a command Predator.

Anyway, here’s the whole army so far. Cheers for looking!

Mustafa’s month III: Leader.

A pretty humble offering this month as I was quite busy.

I chose this guy to be the captain as I’ve always liked his brutal, chunky armour.

Captain: 96pts

Chainsword: 2pts

Plasma Pistol: 5pts

Jump pack: 5pts

He clocks in at 108 points total.

That brings the current army total to 808pts.

Here he is with his fellow flying psychos.

Pokrzyw's Sisters of Battle - Month 1- Rank & File 1 - meltasquad OWAC VIII

"With bolter, flamer and melta is the foe purged. "

Plans for January:

In previous editions I tried to do biggest unit in the very beginning of challenge to avoid situation that my morale will be not enough to finish it. This time I take 7 sister standard squad plus 3 more to fulfill the challenge requirements:

This particular squad was planned for February, but this one was first in the box ;)

Realization:

Sisters of Battle are core of my army, and that unit was the trigger that put me in 40k in '90ies . Unfortunately it looks that old love is dead. It was torture to finish this squad. I spent last years in Fantasy Battle, returning to 40k might be a mistake.. They are finalized, but looking  forward 20+ more is really huge burden

Bright sides - new Warpaints Fanatic paints line is brilliant - these juicy reds painted on black base!

Final Gallery:

I decided to utilize nice weather outside and take old terrains that I was made for 40k. There they are:

Gift:

Yes, there is a gift for one of our supreme supervisors. I found something in inqusitorial recreation facility. Sending it via Poczta Polska was terrible experience (this relic of communism still is alive..). But it was done. I will not post a picture in this month resume - let it be kind of dirty surprise for receiver.

Extraordinary chaotic scanning appears. This time I've prepared Chaos Sorcerer from the depths or Reign of Chaos

SlaaneshChild was obvious choice as this little creature incantate "Slaanesh Slaanesh" every time that i look on him.

Plans for February:

Another squad of sisters plus (optional) two vehicles. Together with already painted squad, it would be great core for my forces.

OWAC VIII Intro Post - Pablol's Imperial Guard

This will be my first OWAC. I was originally planning on building a 2nd edition Emperor's Children army, but changed my plans last autumn. As there seems to have been so many Slaanesh armies recently, I decided to go for a 2nd edition Imperial Guard army. I got back into miniature wargaming two years ago with a few Mordheim campaigns and started collecting some old miniatures I never had when I was younger.

Second edition 40,000 has always been a sweet spot for me. I started collecting 40k at the end of 3rd edition, played mostly during 4th edition and stopped sometime at the beginning of 5th. I remember spending one summer in the mid 2000's playing Necromunda with my little brother and dreaming of one day also playing 2nd edition 40k. Already back then a lot of codices and books were quite well available as diy pdfs.

I lived in Scotland from 2009-2012. Ebay prices weren't as wild as they are now so I managed to buy the original Necromunda books and a few 2nd edition 40k books. I also bought a few gangs worth of figures. For this army I'm going for a mid 90's Imperial Guard look, but with lots of tanks. My infantry will be based on Cawdor gangers, but I haven't decided yet if they will be fanatics, heretics, cultists, or something else. I'll leave my wild card month to define their alignment with some allied forces.

Tanks aren't quite finished, few models are still missing limbs and I haven't primed anything yet, but I think I've got everything I need to finish a complete army.

The 2nd ed. Imperial Guard force organization chart is quite complex as it’s a combination of command HQ hierarchy and the standard Army selection percentage limitations.

The three Imperial Guard units and three tanks should cover the monthly requirements and add up to almost 1000pts. The Imperial Agents will be a nice bonus to get past the 1000pts. I do also have some more tanks, but that would mean quite a lot more infantry to paint.

I test painted one Cawdor. They might end up looking something like this.

Skål's wrap up post "Release the Chaos"

Another OWAC in the books. This one was pretty awesome. I feel like I painted up quite a few of the units I have really been wanting to paint for a really long time. I will be using these units for games of 2nd as well as 3rd edition 40k. While I feel like I have accomplished quite a bit, I have only put a small dent in the pile of Chaos I want to get done. With that, the shirt is a hint at what I will be working on next OWAC as I feel like I need to do part two of my Chaos Forces.

Yesterday, I had a package arrive, and much to my surprise, it was a lovely painted miniature from Bill. Thank you very much dude, he will be added to my Dwarf army as a "taller" dwarf.

Of course, I had to do one more red light photo and I really wanted a photo of the big guy amongst his crew.

These Bloodletters will be a big part of next year's Chaos forces. I may have to paint another 10 just in case.

I think you get a true measure of the size of the Nurgle Chaos Lord when he is standing among his followers. He is going to be an awesome sight on the table and a force to be reckoned with.

I was so happy that this tribute to my Maryland gaming crew came out. I had envisioned them. It was awesome that my buddies chose the Renegade that they wanted to represent them on the field of battle.

These classic Nurgle Marines were so awesome to paint and I think I am going to have to paint a few more units of them to have the Nurgle tide roll over all who oppose them.

To all of the challengers that completed this grand OWAC, congratulations, to those that have fallen I raise my horn to you Skål.

Khârn the Betrayer will rise next OWAC.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Khorne is with me. (From my shirt in the photo).
