Nathan's 206 points of hobgoblins

Well I got there. During the last 6 months I had times when I didn’t think I would make it to be honest. Hobgoblins are fun to paint but with no cavalry I had to paint quite a few of them to get to 1000 points. Thankfully heroes and banners bolstered my points totals as I couldn’t have painted 1000 points of rank and file in 6 months. 12 months maybe. Anyway for June I finished:

- mercenary commander (the temple dog was done earlier) with light armour and a spear for 108 points
- 4 hobyars with light armour and double handed weapons for 40 points
- 7 mourngul renegades with shields, light armour and hand weapons for 56 points

So 206 points all up. I do need to add a shield to the commander at some stage. Going to be a pretty small one as there isn’t much room. Anyway here they are:

Nathan's How a mulligan saved my May (201 points)

The post says it all really - I reckon if I hadn’t taken a mulligan in April I would have struggled to finish the required figures in May. Having a number of figures nearly finished in April though made May pretty easy which, given my sporadic efforts this month, is a good thing. Anyway enough crapping on from me - here are the figures I did plus their points values:

- 5 hobyars with double handed weapons 50 points

- rocket launcher with two additional crew 70 points

- 6 mourngul renegades with shields and light armour 48 points

- level 5 champion for the renegades with light armour and a shield 33 points

Grand total 201 points. Here they are:

Nathan's Well I made it - just (213 points)

The headline says it all - like a number of challengers I struggled painting figures in March. Well to be honest I struggled painting hobgoblins - I got distracted by other figures on my desk and ended up finishing a few of them. But thankfully I got back on track and managed to paint the required 200 points for the month. This is what I managed:

- contingent standard bearer 82 points

- temple dog (Contingent commander rider to follow later on) 85 points

- 3 hobyars 30 points

- 2 mourngul renegades 16 points

For a grand total of 213 points. Here they are:

But I must say it feels like I cheated - yes I got 200 points painted up but it is only 6 figures. I will fix that in April as I have a number of rank and file that I’ve been working on and which I will be able to finish in the month as Easter provides me with heaps of painting time!
