Ratwig's OWAC III Dark Elves

Another OWAC down and 1626 more points added to the army, for a total of 4316 from all three OWACs. One more OWAC should complete this army and I can start something different.

OWAC III:

For the rank and file, I added additional units of crossbows, warriors and witch elves with another three witch elves to be added to the previous unit from OWAC I.

This OWAC was a bit character heavy as I added a subordinate commander, sorcerer and a mercenary commander with a ninja.

I have added a giant scorpion in each of the first two OWACs and added a further three this OWAC to make my host of bugs legal now at five total. I do love the bugs and here are the three for this challenge:

The Samurai Mercenaries got their commander and an assassin, but no new troops as I didn't get them done in time. The whole Samurai contingent as it stands now:

Ratwig's 25 Dark Elf Warriors (415 points)

Greetings from a Jack induced haze. I've been told if I keep my Jack level up I can't get the zombie plague...
For this month's entry, I am submitting a unit of 25 of the old Mengle Manhide's RoR as a Dark Elf Warrior unit with two champions, standard and musician, as I need them to make my army minimum of 40. They will be used as Warriors until I can collect up a unit of 25 Marauder DE Warriors with halberds, then they can become Mengil's Manhide troop. As I didn't have enough original plastic shields, I used Footsore Miniatures Arab teardrop shields with the hand grip on the back removed and a hole drilled in them to go over the shield nubs on the figs. I painted them as if they were manhide covered and used the rune from the Steven King book "It" as the top character and the Japanese character "Ran" as the bottom character, although my caligraphy is probably off a bit...

The first pic was taken outside and then my camera battery died. When it was recharged it was raining outside so the rest are from inside the house.

Ratwig's Dark Elf OWAC III Force

Greetings! For this third iteration of OWAC, I will be painting Dark Elves (yes, again!). I will be adding more warriors, witchelves, crossbows, mercenary Samurai, and another giant scorpion, plus a new unit type for me, cold ones. The warrior unit will be made up using a 25 figure Mengil Manhides Regiment of Renown as they are all I have to represent warriors. This will get this army to its warrior minimum of 40 figs. I'm giving crossbows to the second unit of witchelves just to try out that option. The new crossbow unit will be used as skirmishers. The list is as follows:

1) 14 x Witchelves led by a Lvl 5 character, with extra hand weapon and crossbow: 275 points

2) 10 x Crossbows led by a Lvl 5 character, with shields: 180; 1 x Giant Scorpion: 45 = 225 points

3) 25 x Warriors led by a Lvl 10 and a Lvl 5 character: 415 points

4) 1 x Lvl 20 Mercenary Samurai Commander with heavy armor and longbow, mounted on a Kirin: 186; 12 x Mercenary Samurai with heavy armor, double handed weapons: 131 points = 317 points

5) 10 x Helldrake Cold One riders led by Lvl 20 and Lvl 10 characters: 754 points divided into two submissions

Total points: 1986

Let's see how my cunning plan survives contact with life...

This third OWAC will bring my total Dark Elf army project to around 5000 points.

There's figs to prep and some Jack to test, so I better get busy!
