Slaaneshchild's beasty boys, rank and file month 4, April

Hello everyone ! We have seen last month some old Ral Partha miniatures and some Metal Magic beauties, let's continue this way for this month. Trying to mix as many range of miniatures in the same regiment as possible !

I started with my beastmen. I had some very old citadel miniatures, but also some others from other ranges like Cthulhu's Metal Magic (Dunwich Horror), Knighmare miniatures, and Grenadier Miniatures.

Once all fixed on the right base and all put side by side, they are all good to me :)

I also mixed miniatures that are technically not beastmen, like orcs, goblourd, and even 2 barbarians but I think they look cute all together, don't they ?

Master !!! We are coming !!!

Behold ! the first, the original chaos spawn (4th miniature starting by the left)

Did you noticed the horse had 6 legs ? The sacred number !!!

Then I had more time so I painted some furies. You will recognize easily the GW's ones, but also some Metal Magic's Dunwich Horrors and finaly 2 harlequin squig like creatures... I recruit them all !!

Basically now I am done with troops !! So next month will be about characters and maybe my baggage train. Will see !

Points value :

20 beastmen, shields and hand weapons, light armours. Musicians and standard bearer :  264 pts
7 furies ;                                                                                                                                105 pts

Total for April : 369 pts

See you next month ! It gonna be nasty !

Nathan’s beastmen of Khorne - month 1 rank and file (199.5 points)

Well the title says it all really. For month one I managed to paint up 14 beastmen; here they are:

In terms of points these add up to 199.5 points as an individual figure with light armor and a shield is 14.25 points each. I already had a couple of these painted from when I did a chaos army for the OWAC some years ago so I have two full units. Next month I’m doing the leaders month and will add a banner for them.

As I’m painting up khorne figures I thought I would also work on some of the 40K stuff I have  -here are two I finished this month:

And finally my pledge mini which is an old citadel cyclops who will go out in the mail next week. Here he is:

Feral obscenity and the vilest depravation, here come the Minotaurs of Slaanesh ! Introducing Slaaneshchild next infamous project...

So here we are !! Another OWAC !! I had in mind to build a dark elves army with only dark raiders and dragon riders. But unfortunately, I am a bit short on money at the moment so I can't afford it. I had in mind this project of "only big creatures"... so I unearthed them an I realized I had an entire horde of minotaurs (and friends).

Humm... And what can be more depraved and repulsive than a minotaur dedicated to Slaanesh ?

It works pretty well with my other projects as I did Warriors of Slaanesh for my first OWAC, Daemons of Slaanesh for my second OWAC... this one come beastmen and minotaurs, this is pretty obvious.

Of course, the horde will gather around a Keeper of Secret, this is mandatory to me and KoS looks like a minotaur.

I am also thinking of making a daemon prince, like a former minotaur champion that has risen to daemonhood.
I will have 2 packs of minotaurs, some ungors also, and some Slaangors.

I have also this RP Box that I do want to paint. Those miniatures are dream I couldn't afford when I was a child. So today I am realizing it !! I will play them as harpies. Maybe I will make a regiment of renom of my own.

I have converted Fenryll ogres into minotaurs. And here is their "king" :D
I wanted to make a minotaur shaman, but without creating rules, so here he comes : a minotaur hero with the crown of sorcery... I tryed to make as ridiculous as possible and I am pretty proud of me, he looks scary. He reminds me Art the Clown in Terrorizer.

I also made a minotaur daemon prince... He will be my minotaur lord.

A keeper of secret is also sneaking around...

Behold the master of the Horde !!!!!

The kinkiest baggage train ever !!!!

In Provence, we have a legend of a monster name "La Tarasque". It was supposed to live in the swamp between Avignon and Arles during the Middle Age. I had this weird miniature and I decided to add it to my horde. I will play it as a medusa or an hydra.

My beastmen. Some are creatures from RAFM and Metal Magic Dunwitch Detective range, some are very old citadel minatures, some just oldhammer stuff, It will work well together.

Here are my ungors/lesser beastmen/thug, depending on which edition I am playing with. They are orcs from LotR from RP range I think. Those miniatures are fantastic. I am impressed by the lever of detail.

Everything comes to an end, here is my army list ! (4th ed army list)

Minotaur Lord (Minotaur Daemon Prince)                                            380 pts

Minotaur Champion                                                                                110 pts
Minotaur Champion                                                                                110 pts

Keeper of Secrets                                                                                    750 pts

6 minotaurs with banner (additional weapons)                                       287 pts
6 minotaurs with banner (2 handed weapons)                                        294 pts

18 Slaangors with banner (2 handed weapons)                                      240 pts
30 chaos thugs/lesser beastmen (shield and spear)                                224 pts
12 Harpies                                                                                              180 pts

1 Tarascus (count as Gorgon / Hydra)                                                    110 pts or 200 pts
Total :  2925 pts or 3015 pts !! It looks almost like a genuine army list !

That's all my friends ! I hope you'll enjoy following this project. Can't wait to see yours !
Cheers,

Laurent, (Slaaneshchild)

Sybou - chaos army - month 4 - Leader - 512 points

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing great.

I managed to not use my Mulligan for this month, i'm in a row.

This month will be for my leader, the Antaron the not so quiete rusty champion of chaos.

Antaron was supposed to be a Nurgle Follower but I forgot and I painted him like a chaos normie in Red and Black :)

LoL, he's pretty cool this way:

The Leader of the Army that wants to destroy The Empire

Antaron is a Reaper Miniatures I bought years ago just to add ranks to my chaos warriors. Then I converted him as a radical Inquisitor for inquisimunda. I never really played it so the inquisitors and their retinue joined my different armies.

Antaron got upgraded to the rank of Heroes and here he is.

He got a massive hammer able to break castle wall, the "Siege breaker".

Then i added 11 beastmen to my big unit:

The Five going mad on Mescaline

Here we have a cool cat painted in white, the club of death with a recovered club and 3 broos painted as generic chaps.

A couple of doggos

The big guy is a c27 beastman named Khornag. He looks really cool. I saw him painted on the net and i tried to paint him the same way. The other is a Khorne fellow named "sword 18". I tried to copy the painted from the slaves of darkness book.

Nurgle vs Slaanesh

Here we have 2 pestigors that look like twins. Then 2 slaangors, that I tried to paint as temple guards, pretty clean for chaos followers.

My plan was to get done my 5 dragon ogres in April but I failed:

I only did 3

They're not here for joking ...

I had the one on the left for maybe 20 years ... It felt good to finally paint him. I'm pretty sure i can finish the 2 last ones in May.

I painted for 512 points of miniatures.

I still have to do:

  • 16 beastmen
  • 2 dragon ogres
  • 1 Wizard on disk
  • 1 offering!
  • 1 Wildcard month

If everything is going well, i shall finish my 19 miniatures in May in order to focus myself on the wildcard in June.

Cheers guys, take care!                                                                                            Sybou

Bye from the squad

Owac VII_ Sybou_ chaos army_ month 3_ rank and file_220 points

Hello everyone, for me the month of march wasn't really the best of all.

I still managed to get painted 20 old beastmen with some old broos in there.

Here there are:

A dark and sinister unit

A rank of missfits

Here we have a bugbear, an unlucky broo with a broken arm, a Dog beastman, a Bob Olleys guard and an old beastman from Trish.

Some broos and a chicken

3 old runequest broos, a cool beastman and a dragonewt that I painted as a chicken beastman.

Big Ham and his crew

Big Ham the pig got his back covered by a Rhino, a Wolf and a couple of broos.

Some really cool sculpts

Five old broos, I really like the one with his hat or the big furry one on the left.

These 20 guys will be part of my big unit that I should finish in may.

That's all for me.

Cheers everyone!!!

Owac VII_ Sybou_ chaos army_ month 1_ rank and file_ 324 points

 Hello to all owacers!

This year, i'm proudly coming back to some classics: My chaos army.

Since my dear childhood where i was just a lad, i was digging chaos and especially beastmen.

The beastmen from battlemasters attracted my attention and i was wondering why they weren't in heroquest?

Anyway, through the years, i gathered a lots of classic chaos sculpts and my army got bigger and bigger.

I have 646 miniatures for my mortals and beastmen army. To this, we must add some daemons, chaos dwarves, hobgoblins and norses.

But each army in its own time, Owac VII will allow me to progress on my main chaos army where there is a lots of beastmen:

25 beastmen with banner and champion

I'm starting the Owac with a small unit of 25 beastmen. Their leader is a pretentious snakeman claiming to belong to Kuresh Nobility. His followers just tell about him he was just a snake that got lucky while chewing wyrdstone.

But most of them don't dare to tell this to his face and he remains a deadly foe.

A scary banner

The banner of the unit is a lamasu king. I tried to copy a banner which was in the Slaves to Darkness book. The bearer is an orc with a skin condition. Hunted by his orcish brethrens, he found his way amongst chaos followers. Here we can see him with his one eyed fellow.

Art coming from Slave to Darkness

Here, we have the full command group. There are a couple of Runequest broos, really cool sculpts. One got a skull like head, he looks like a beast templar. Then we have Carrion, a bird like guy. He's a real classic sculpt from the old days.

Two more broos, then a strange beastman named Cloven Hoof. He got his head placed in a strange way. Then two boarguys named Gizilgig and Swilefog. Back when I found them, i was happy to find other kind of beasts in the army but I didn't find them very cool to paint.

A couple of months ago, I found the chaos warrior that looks like a small ogre. I didn't think he was a good fit amongst chaos warriors so I put him in the beastmen regiment.

Then there is axe wielder who looks like a little lamb. Then we have a guy with a big spear who's looking like a bit like a bugbear.
Following, we have camel man and a big axe bearer with a single horn on the forehead.

Here we can see a classic beast guy, two Bob Olley's fellows, a broo with a stylish helmet and the one in the middle is a fun mini. His name is Birdman, he s a mix of beard and walrus with a big coat, a hat and a claymore. I gave him a big Santa cloack :)

The last bunch includes a broo with chainmail and big mace, a pig with eye patch and big axe, a pot bellied broo, a young but athletic minotaur and tzeentchian fellow with cool helmet. They look fierce and mean troubles.

A last picture before February

Here is my January month that gather 324 points of beasts. They were really fun to paint apart from a couple. I liked training in freehand on the banner ; it's not perfect but it will do the trick.

I had this miniature for several years now and getting to see them painted filled me joy and a sense of completion.

Finally, i have my entry fee to get ready!

It's a skeleton warrior with a spear! I have to get it painted and based before sending it. As its future owner is an undead player, he will be able to use it :)

Next time, some small guys and a big guy.

Carry on guys, we will complete this new owac!!!

Cheers,
