 For those about to finish the OWAC - I salute you!!!

It were long 6 months of preparing and painting miniatures that are not my favourite army (with some exceptions). Druchii come on my shelf by some chain of barter. But.. there were a lot miniatures waiting for painting.. Main forces are ready in result of OWAC VII, but my personal weakness - cavalry is still not finished.  This time I've also do some bonus miniatures connected with army, but from 6-7th edition of WFB. Main work was done during first months. Last two I was not at home travelling a lot.

Dragon is nice centerpiece of this army. This small guy made by Jaakko would act as a hero (I gave him possibility to ride the dragon from time to time ;o) )

The most beautiful Witch Elves

During OWAC V I've painted High Elves army. This is good moment to show both armies in deadly clash. High Elves are brave, but it looks that Druchii have superiority on battlefield:

Thank You very much for such a great time. I'm proud to be in the group that reach the end of this challenge. I plan to skip OWAC VIII as I don't have miniatures for such event, but there are plans to return in OWAC IX. Maybe there will be time for WH40k project.

Pokrzyw's Druchii - Month 6 - Wildcard - wild beasts (90pts)

 "Flocks of harpies circle over battlefield, swooping down to rip apart their foes with their sharp fangs and talons"

Plans for June:

Plan was simple - finishing all remaining miniatures from challenge:

• 12 black riders from Month 3
• warhydra from Month 4
• Morathi on pegasus from Month 4
• cold one chariot as alternative for Malekith
• As a surprise Dragonlord Rakhart

Realization:

Almost whole month I traveled and wasn't present at home. I started black riders, but have no time for finishing. It would be painted in next weeks. I assembled dragonlord (3d printed - gift from my friend that plays with his new toy). I cannot find Morathi - very strange, that needs deeper investigation. In this week I realized that there is no time for black riders.

Finally I turn to assembly and paint harpies that were somewhere in boxes of shame ;)  Ugly as Morathi without her dark magic, but very useful in game.

In next week I will create wrap-up of whole OWAC 7. In next Saturday I plan to create some battlefield with miniatures from OWAC 5 and OWAC 7 struggling in combat.

Pokrzyw's Druchii - Month 4 - Rank & File - repea(te)r bolt throwers (400 pts)

 "Reaper bolt throwers are a testimony to the genius of our race. A mechanism of counterweights and strings allows this war machine to shoot a hail of barbed bolts, or a single missile with much greater force."

Realisation:

I receive very late alternatives for horses tails. Finally I assembly all black riders, primered them and didn't painted - they will be finished in meantime ;)

But situation was saved by bolt throwers. In previous months I finished one (with red gems), but four remains. And were finished this month

 "Cold Ones are ancient reptiles that live in the dark caves and tunnels in the mountains underneath Hag Graef. They are extremely stubborn beasts, and not at all intelligent ... "

Plans for March:

After painting the most of infantry I plan for March less miniatures, but more elite. I try to break typical schema of green cold-ones.

Realisation:

I have really big motivation lag after crazy last month. In first week I painted sorceress that gave me a lot of fun. Second week was manticore as I tried not to touch units... All remaining models was finished in last week.

I'm really happy that there is no infantry to paint.

Pokrzyw's Druchii - Month 2 - Rank & File - Spears & Xbows (1204 pts)

"Almost all Dark Elves, both man and woman, are deadly and extremely dangerous fighters, equally adept with sword, spear or their famous repeater crossbow. At times of war almost  the entire  Dark Elf population can be called to arms.. "

Plans for February:

Lessons learned - first months shall have all miniatures that goes with great numbers. As I create the defensive list with common troops, I planned to have four units - two mixed city guards, bigger block of spearmen, and separate unit of crossbowmen. It could be also transformed in four units of city guards. I previous edition (fifth) I left with some miniatures that I cannot paint because of monotony. 

I have also one remaining from January secondary objective - sorcerer with nice spear.

Realisation:

I started with both units of city guards and assassins to be sure that I would have primary objective done. Valentine's day gave that two photos that means that I passed "have to" part of Rank & File no 2.

But still I have something to do in remaining two weeks (left tray WIP of sec objective, right tray with 6ed miniatures for local league).

In last week I was able to paint it, First time I created banners using aluminium from coke can. hard to cut, but I was positive surprised comparing to thick paper (smooth texture).

Time for heavy cavalry - elves on dinosaures. Lasers replaced by dark magic. Last unit of infatry in addition. I wait for one miniature that could introduce some wildness. Would be a lot of fun.
