Chris' Chaos Army - Month 2, Feb 24 - Chaos Thug Cavalry 209 points

I'm not a big fan of painting cavalry , although I'm pleased with how they turned out.  209 points is relatively low for a Chaos unit!

A mere 799 points so far and very happy with both units.....

Next are an old favourite of mine, some original Goodwin chaos warriors.   I've painted a few in the past and will be great to have another go!

See you next month, happy painting!

  1. Does ANYONE enjoy painting cavalry models? These have come out very nicely though, and look great with your centaurs. I expect it will be a relief to paint heavily armoured guys on foot after all that horseflesh, though.

  2. Very nicely done! And I'm not sure there's anyone who particularly enjoys cavalry - I've talked with my father, who did military models and 1/72 figures for decades, and he without prompting he's mentioned how much he hated painting horses.

  4. Grinding through the horses and centaurs definitely payed off, though. Looking at your army list it seems like you are going to have some really enjoyable painting in the coming months

  5. Another very impressive and imposing Chaos Cavalry unit! Not only do these big cavalry units look great but they are a significant tactical option in game terms. You have definitely earned your treat of all those lovely Goodwin sculpts :D

  6. Great month for Chaos. They really fit in with your centaur sculpts. Those Goodwin sculpts will be a real treat to paint up.

  7. Cavalry are always a chore aren't they? Look great on the table but often a pain to paint (why us it we all find horses such a soul sucking experience to paint?).

Regardless they look great and you've already got yourself a formidable force there.
