First, my favorite unit: 5 Marauder Miniatures MM65 flagellants and one Citadel fanatic converted into Sandsjaeger (the equivalent of bergsjaegers, with handguns instead of long bows). The original idea comes from this illustration, showing Gerontius, the Blind Priest, armed with a gigantic black powder weapon:

And the wild bunch of crazy hermits:
For the second regiment, I should have stuck to the original plan, and paint the beggars following Pieter the Pious. Instead, I've bought a nice (but unfortunately oversized) cannon produced by Lead Adventures miniatures for the Bruegelburg range, and re-used some medieval oldies for the crew (you can still find them on Wargames Foundry website).
Hugh, Godfrey and Wart are respectively the loader, gunner and crewman of the Citadel C22 imperial cannon. They look really small compared to the bell converted into a mortar, thanks to the ingenuity of the bombardier-monk (the Philosopher designed by Aly Morrison for Talisman).

To conclude this fourth month, we have:
- 6 Sandsjaeger (count as Bergjaeger) with standard bearer: 7 x 13 = 91 points
- 1 cannon and the 3-man crew: 60 points
- 1 Level 5 bombardier: 50 points
- TOTAL: 201 points
See you in May!
The 'flagellants' are wonderful, especially the one with the BFG! Your conversions are seamless!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I initially wanted to give him a cannon, but the bit took to long to arrive by the Post. Hence the gatling :)
DeleteI love the "black powder troops" you have added to your army! Excellent conversion and paint work!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot!
DeleteOutstanding :)
ReplyDeleteHugh has to be my favourite though!
Hugh the dull. Absolute boredom to paint :p
DeleteWell those are some crazy looking dudes with guns. Any army would think twice seeing these guys come out.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully converted and painted. Well done.
Thanks! If I had more time, I have a couple of ideas for new conversions. I'll see if I can make them for June.
DeleteGreat conversions! Wonderful painting as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like them :)
DeleteGorgeous painted models as always :)
ReplyDeleteLove your work as always! The conversion and that cannon came magnificently.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, guys!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those converted Flagellants work brilliantly! And that is one massive Bell Bombard! My Border Princes are not at all jealous. Nope. Not one bit. :p
