Joined by his quiet new friends, Slange headed south toward the Empire. He could already tell that it would be difficult to control all his thralls at once and decided that it would be wise to add lieutenants to his force along the way. His book spoke of an artifact, an orb known as the Noch-Larr, that would help him bind more powerful unnatural beings to his will and its last known location is where he headed next.
Upon finding the orb he spoke mighty incantations that would also make for an epic movie soundtrack and summoned a hero of undeath, the Chaos Deathmaster (or so the catalog said). Slange would count on the Deathmaster to control his ranks of Grim Reapers.
They would be heading into more populated areas soon; bony farmhands and a single undead middle-manager wouldn't be enough to get them through the realms of mortal men and out onto the open seas where they were headed. Slange scoured the area and found enough 'raw materials' to construct some Death Riders as well. A mounted champion to lead them would be of great value...perhaps a detour through Bretonnia was in order.
-February's Progress-
Lv 5 Hero: 30 points
6 Grim Reapers: 72 points
5 Death Riders: 105 points
Total for Feb: 207 points
Aside from the Grim Reaper in the classic black robe, everything for February are Ral Partha figs that I bought for TSR BattleSystem back in the early 90's. It's a little surreal to finally have them painted.
These are all great figs well done! Would your soundtrack be from Heavy Metal?
ReplyDeleteLoving the background in your pictures, and the group shot is already looking like a tidy warband. Black and red FTW!
ReplyDeleteGreat work! I really like cavalry, very oldhammer
ReplyDeleteExcellent work! I like the rusty look

ReplyDeleteThats what the OWAC is all about!
SO that's why I didn't recognize the figures, Ral Partha. I thought it was just yet another line of GW figures I was unfamiliar with. Great story to go along with your paint jobs. I'm liking your army.
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I'm shock that you held on to them since Battlesystem!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing these old Ral Partha minis painted up. Very nice looking collection of models.
ReplyDeleteNice & creepy looking. I'm really enjoying the narrative style of your updates too!
ReplyDeleteI hope Slange finds enough wood to build his boats! The army is coming along quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteNice work and great output for a short month!
