Slaaneshchild's beasty boys, rank and file month 4, April

Hello everyone ! We have seen last month some old Ral Partha miniatures and some Metal Magic beauties, let's continue this way for this month. Trying to mix as many range of miniatures in the same regiment as possible !

I started with my beastmen. I had some very old citadel miniatures, but also some others from other ranges like Cthulhu's Metal Magic (Dunwich Horror), Knighmare miniatures, and Grenadier Miniatures.

Once all fixed on the right base and all put side by side, they are all good to me :)

I also mixed miniatures that are technically not beastmen, like orcs, goblourd, and even 2 barbarians but I think they look cute all together, don't they ?

Master !!! We are coming !!!

Behold ! the first, the original chaos spawn (4th miniature starting by the left)

Did you noticed the horse had 6 legs ? The sacred number !!!

Then I had more time so I painted some furies. You will recognize easily the GW's ones, but also some Metal Magic's Dunwich Horrors and finaly 2 harlequin squig like creatures... I recruit them all !!

Basically now I am done with troops !! So next month will be about characters and maybe my baggage train. Will see !

Points value :

20 beastmen, shields and hand weapons, light armours. Musicians and standard bearer :  264 pts
7 furies ;                                                                                                                                105 pts

Total for April : 369 pts

See you next month ! It gonna be nasty !

Joe's Bretonnian's- The wizard Gibelin and the dragon Béatrice.

Perhaps unwisely, I've eaten my dessert first and instead of getting some rank and file done this month I've progressed directly to the big gribbly dragon. This is an old Grenadier copper dragon, still for sale probably from one of the companies who still produce old Grenadier stuff. I love the unique pose and the weird wings.

The wizard Gibelin is widely mistrusted by just about everyone in the Duc's warband, not least by de Rainault himself. The knights are outraged by his refusal to address them with sufficient obsequiousness, and lament that a man without a family tree or even a surname should have risen so high in the Duc's employ. The peasants of the company, deeply superstitious to a man, whisper that his mother was a dwarf and his father half-daemon. This would certainly explain his stature, his beard and his otherworldly demeanour. No-one can deny his usefulness to the Chevauchée though- when you positively, absolutely have to burn every hovel in the village- accept no substitutes!

month 1 - monster month - level 20 wizard on a winged dragon: 540 points.

PaulD's final presentation of what I daubed paint over this Spring for the Old World army Challenge

Here's a few pictures of my meager efforts of applying paint to a few miniatures as part of the Old World Army Challenge to provide me with additions to my amazonian army, which didn't get off to particularly good start, as I was originally painting lizardmen!

Check out the early posts for details of how I got here.  I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did?

Paul / Golgfag1

PS. Thanks to all the others who took part, seeing your efforts, encourged me to do more than I intended, especially to Mr Iannick for all the boring admin stuff.

Paul D's wild-card with a few odds and sods, making up the numbers for 1287points

Hard to believe that during month one I was worried about making the points target. Then I realised - participants were painting more than the minimum per month and others said I could carry stuff over, if, I didn't get them finished. Hence, here a few 'C' series Amazons which came out of their Dettol bath at the beginning of May, but I couldn't finish, as I didn't have any bases for them to join their sisters.

As mentioned on the facebook page, I ordered a few more cat-riders via ebay to make up their numbers, only to be told they wouldn't arrive  until the end of June. So, I painted up those I had and moved on to something else.

And as soon as their finished, the others turn up early!

But, after I started painting Elves, from Foundry and other manufacturers, typical.

So here's the elf contingent, which will be my entry for this final month, having just received their first coat of varnish.

Next up, the new cat riders have a dab of paint

I've a few days to paint a few more figures, but I really need to start putting my 'new' stuff together for BOYL 2021, so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead, with a little hors d'oeuvre for my ogre cooks! Enjoy.

This months contingent all together, based and varnished, hope to see all your efforts in July.

Six cat riders with all the trimmings forty eight points each - two hundred and eighty eight points.

Four cats with their beastmaster - one hundred and eighty six points.

Ten Elvish Wardancers at twenty points each - two hundred points

One level five novice at sixty points

one Shar-woman at level two, eighty five points

One level three Wizard, one hundred and fifty five points

One powersword swinging drug induced nutter - two hundred and sixty six points.

One guardwoman at nineteen points

Four tribeswomen at seven points each - twenty eight points.

Now, how do I get this army shot for July?
