Graeme's Skaven - February - Rank and File #2 (27 points)

Graeme's Skaven - February - Rank and File #2 (27 points)

Like the month, it's going to be short and sweet...

Without further ado, here's my February contribution in all their glory:

February's rabble

February is always a tight squeeze, so the Giant Rats were called up to make things a little easier to hit the 10 figure target. I painted up two of them as albinos, just to break up the dark colours.

The Skavenslaves turned out well, and I'm really happy with them. However, I've been fiddling with my lighting and camera setup and still don't feel the photos are coming out quite right, so the experimentation will continue until I hit the sweet spot and can display them in all their glory.

Skavenslaves

5 Skavenslaves, armed with a hand weapon and spear - 15 points

6 Giant Rats, armed with malice and evil intentions - 12 points

So, the dizzying total of 27 points of Skaven rank-and-file is added to my army this month!

That brings the grand total for the challenge so far to 72 points!!!

The plan for March? Uhm, more Clan Rats and Skavenslaves... It's not creative and it's not exciting, but it's slowly bulking up my army, thank you very much.

I promise to try to prep some more exciting and colourful stuff for later in the challenge, but for now I'm just going to keep grinding out more cannon fodder.

Quin’s Debaucherous Dwarfs - Disco Dollies & the Dumb Chauffeur (114.5 Points)

This month I’ve painted the only non-dwarfs in my chaos dwarf army. A selection of chaos goblin foresters equipped with improvised weapons - the “Disco Dollies” - slaves to their deviant masters. Figures used are 6th edition WFB Ogre Kingdoms Gnoblar Trappers. I absolutely adore these figures while I’m not much a fan of their typical companions.

Also, a chaos troll - the “Dumb Chauffeur” - an abomination that takes many sex dwarfs for the “ride of rides”. The figure is a Ral Partha Toxic Spirit from their Shadowrun range.

11 Chaos Goblin Foresters w/ Improvised Weapons 4.5 points each (49.5)

Chaos Troll (65)

Total for February - 114.5 Points

Ian's Mordheim - The Bloody Hood Coven

"Time is what we want most but what we use worst."

                                                         – William Penn

No fancy text for the moment. February was hard for almost everyone and I just finished painting my last miniature for this month challenge on the afternoon of the 28th. As most of them were painted in a rush, I am not entirely satisfied with the final result and look of this warband. I might ad the roster sheet to this article at some moment in the near future...

I was very happy to get my hand on those about 2-3 years ago. They are quite rare but overall I think they look quite silly and uninspiring. Anyway, I am still glad they are finally done and will be part of some games of Mordheim in the future.

Congrats to all surviving participants !

Ratwig's February OWAC VI WAB Romano-British Rank and File Entry: Fflamddwn's Saxon Mercenaries, (298 points)

This month's entry is a twenty four man Saxon Mercenary unit. These are a bit better fighters than the first entry, but they suffer from being impetuous. They are equipped with hand weapon, javelins, throwing spear (+1) and Saxon buckler. Full command of leader, standard bearer and musician are included for a total of 176 points. The whole lot is commanded by Atheling Fflamddwn who has the "Fearsome Blow" character advantage for a total of 122 points. They come in at 298 points total for this submission.

This is the bunch to send in when you want to break things and you don't want your troops to get banged up.

The miniatures are by Gripping Beast and Footsore. Spears and javelins are brass rod, cut to length, pounded flat on the end, filed to spear head shape and glued in place. The unit standard is a GB top with a brass rod pole.

Glad these are done as I have a lot of prep work to do to get next month's entry ready for paint.

But for now it's Jack time!

Ratwig out!
