Pokrzyw's Empire Army - Month 5 - storm of lead (200pts) - Rank and File 4 - OWAC IX

"Master Engineer Volker von Meinkopt found inspiration watching students reloading at the Imperial Gunnery School. He had a revelation: more barrels equals more shots equals more lethality. He soon produced the first repeating handgun, Von Meinkopt’s Whirling Cavalcade of Death, and pistol, Von Meinkopt's Micro-mainspring of Multitudinous Precipitation of Pernicious Lead. Not content to rest on those laurels, he then created the enormous nine-barrelled cannon, the Helblaster Volley Gun, which is utterly lethal to enemies and, all too often, its crew." - Warhammer Armies: Empire 4ed

Plans for May:

I try to paint halflings. But it is the swarm. There were too many distraction in this month. I took something that I could finish. I see no Empire Army without artillery. Hellblasters are unique piece, especially in classic blue-red uniform.

Realization:

I started in second week in May, unfortunately I have business trip and after that two weeks of sickness that i couldn't focus my eyes on anything longer than few minutes.. Finally my dog try to catch stick and lost a half of fang.. In affect vet-surgery I lost last weekend, so in 2nd of June I was able take photos and prepare article.

Gallery:

hard calculations where to shot

The safest place for crew is the rear of machinery

Or from the bird-view

Enjoy the bright colours

Points:

  • hellblaster volley gun (100)
  • hellblaster volley gun (100)

Plans for June:
Volkmar and cavalry!

Sybou_Month 4_OWAC VIII_Wildcards and leader_ Artillery and ... a mysterious fellow

Hello dear assemblée,

I'm glad to join you again on a new month for our favorite contest.

I took time to do my wildcard which was surprisingly hard to finish.

It's just a couple of cannons!

A great canon!

So The Baron purchased several artillery pieces for his army. It includes a mortar, 2 great cannons and 2 hellguns.

These one is operated by 3 former Bretonnian outcasts. As the cannon is kind of old, it is better to have a big shield to protect yourself when you light it on.

A hellgun

Sorry about this picture which is kind of blurry.
The crew tries really hard to make it work but misfires are to be expected.
The Baron's army doesn't include master engineer so the artillery pieces are not the more reliable.

Finally to finish the month, something wicked this way comes ...

“There are some who call me…Tim”

Tim the Enchanter is one amongst lots of wizards working for the Baron. But Tim is a man of talent that only has a relation of equal to equal with the Baron ...
The 2 old geezers don't really get along and have many contest of who's the more mysterious.

In order to finish Owac 8, I still have my big cavalry unit of dogs of war and my lord on steed.
So 11 riders before the end of Owac.

May --> Mercenary cavalry
June --> Leader month

That's it for my month of April. Thank you for reading me and keep your head into the game, we're getting closer to the end.

Cheers

Ben's Alpine Gnomes (717.5 points) OWAC VII - Month 4

Howdy Nerds! April became my war machine month, and it occurred to me that this may be my only army that has zero conversions in it. Because its a third party army and miniature line, I still won't be allowed into the hallowed halls of GW, but it was quite a revelation.

I haven't taken a hacksaw to anything, or drowned a unit in glue or dirt. If I'm true to my word (and I have all intention to be,) there'll be two hand sculpted crossbows by summertime, but all in all, this may be the most normal wargaming project I've ever done.

While I was reeling from the implications of a "normal" project, I broke out some mushrooms to keep the cannon company company.

I forgot to name them.

+60

Then there's this organ gun, who's wearing a very normal expression.

Maybe its because Jimothy the Goose is poking around, on orders from Bill of course.
+50

And then I decided to make a few more champions, who might slot into future infantry blocks, or could just show up to look intimidating. We'll see!

+number

The Army (thus far)

10 crossbows - 60p
2 illusionists - 112p
1 alpine giant - 160
11 guarden gnomes with light armor, bsb, and musician - 161.5p
champion on foot with halberd and light armor - 39p
5 fox riders - 75p
1 cannon - 60p
1 organ gun - 50p

total points =  717.5/1000

And that's what we've got for April. I hope your projects are going well and that you can see the end in sight! Take care all, and see you in the future!

Samuel’s Empire - Grand Army of Nuln - Rank & File II : Gunnery School Artillery (295 pts)

This month was a short one and as I had a week long business trip planned I needed to pick the lowest model count and get to work sharpish. So to that end, it weas time for the big guns!!!

For all the Gunnery School based models I wanted to add a spot colour. So based on the various different colours used by Nuln units in the literature I decided upon green. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Von Glockenspink himself!

Heimerdunkel, the man sent to keep an eye on things

The wood is very well sculpted, but boy is it a pain in the ass to paint.

Points so far:-

Rank & File I (Jan):

 - 19 x Halberdiers : light armour, standard, musician = 189pts

 - Champion: halberd, light armour = 34pts

Rank & File II (Feb):

 - Mortar = 100pts

 - Great Cannon = 95pts

 - Helblaster Volley Gun = 100pts

Total so far = 518pts

Next month on to some handgunners also from the Gunnery School

Peace out

Samuel

Pokrzyw's High Elves - God of war - Rank&File #3 (150pts)

The more ferocious than repeater bolt thrower is battery of bolt throwers.

Elves never use gunpowder, using their classical bolt throwers. One heavy bolt, or cloud of minor arrows means versatility. This is often first target for enemy troops, but really hard-biting target.

This was the worst month. I've planned to finish two chariots plus three bolt throwers. Chariots still stays on shelf. I'm not happy

Continuing tradition of colourful nineties I use scheme from army book.
