Rank & File month #1
Here we are !
I've completed my first participation to the mighty challenge... I decided to start with Chaos Knights. Or I should say "Choosen Chaos Knights" because they are riding those infamous mount of Slaanesh.
As I am not playing 3rd ed, they won't be "Legionnaires" but only Chaos Knight. Which is fair enough.
I hope you admire those magnificent shields, they are from Knightmare Miniatures and sculpted by the mighty everchoosen chaos champion "Roberth Breseus" (who have the best Khornate army ever)
As you can see, they are escorted by a beautiful Champ... creature. N'ghal, the pretty. I wanted to add a champion to support them, I like the idea of a champion struggling between spawnhood and humanity.
Here are the detailed pictures...
Now I think I have more than 600 pts... (each knight costs 90 pts)... plus the champion riding a giant spider... let's say, 666 pts !!!!
Hail the Dark Prince !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...and Pink!
Yeaaaaah pink is the new black :)
DeleteGreat work, I love these weird conversion it really represents the RoC era.
ReplyDeleteThank you Iannick ! I try to work on this mood :)
DeleteSeconding that "beautiful!" I always like to see pastel colours on Slaanesh units rather than the gimp suit look that became the norm going into sixth edition. Perhaps it looks better on these older, more whimiscal figures than on the hulking great doomspikeskullsrragh Warriors I'm used to but who's counting?
ReplyDeleteAhaha I have to confess that I like "gimp suit look" too. But for those guys I HAD to make them like this, Slaanesh Legionnaire are too RoC to be painted differently :)
DeletePastel Slananesh is best slaanesh! Great job, and I specially like the struggling champspawn :)
ReplyDeleteThank you !! Ahah the Champspawn, I've got a name, thanks !
DeleteN'ghal certainly is a pretty one! The human hands are a nice and creepy touch to the conversion. Lovely work on the knights too and the basing sets their pastel tones off very nicely!
ReplyDeleteThank you ! I am glad you noticed the bases too, I recently tryed to improve them
DeleteSo twisted! Nicely done.
ReplyDeletemy pleasure :D
DeleteOooh, these are lovely. I especially love the pseudospawn champion!
ReplyDeleteahah thanks ! the ChampSpawn according to @epicsatsuma :D
DeleteSorry, but I really don't like these, I love em. exceptionly depictions of the blessed, well done sir.
ReplyDeleteWow thank you ! This is genuine Slaanesh gaze !
DeleteCool work, really like the conversions...
ReplyDeleteThank you Mariano, I can't wait to start next month, will do other conversions.
DeleteThose are disturbingly nice...
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are ! Thank you !
DeleteThey look great!
ReplyDeleteI like the color palette. Sometimes Slaanesh armies have a gaudy appearance, but you've got some great color harmony going on. I like the way you carried that through to the metalic weapons, armour, etc. too.
Great concept (and look!) for the champion, too.
Thank you ! I think they look all linked together because I base them with a purple wash, I think it creates a "soft link" between them. Glad you like them !

ReplyDeleteGreat job Laurent. Love the pastel colours and the contrast with the golds.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a painted unit of the Slaanesh Steeds in a long time and you really did them justice! Great conversions and a brilliant start to your Slaanesh horde!
ReplyDeleteLooking at them in these pastel colours is bliss. Slaanesh must be pleased... Honestly, I've always been sceptical of the traditional Slaaneshi colours as described in ROC, but you managed to make them work together very well. Great job! And well done on the creepy conversions.
ReplyDeleteClassic looking pastels on classic Slaaneshii figures and a stunning conversion for the champ. Brilliant start.
ReplyDeleteLovely work on the chaos knights, but the champion is absolutely amazing!
