"The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math..."
Okay, we may have a huge problem here. Bretonnia's Knights are waaaaaaay harder to paint as I thought.
"Only five models! It will be such an easy task!"
I wish I could punch me in the face
Anyway, here are my first knights since the last millenium!
Five Knight Errant (176 points) ready to charge my enemy and HOPEFULLY obtain glory to their King and the Lady!
Now let's go back to some good old infantry..
See you next month!

These guys look good to me, looks like you've gotten to grips with the required skills, which is basically painting straight parallel or perpendicular lines :) The colours are good and clear, I especially love that red! Paint finish looks nice and smooth, which is important when you're covering large areas in one colour.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many knights you have to paint, but it would be worth having a google to look at all the different ways shields were divided so that you don't get bored. "field divisions" and "ordinaries" are your search terms :)
I'm guessing you will be pulling these same colours out into the infantry, I'm confident that will look great, too.
I don't know if you're planning to use any heraldic decals / transfers in this project, but if you don't fancy freehand heraldry (and who does?) then it'd be a route to "fancy up" some of your knights. It takes a bit of practice - I think I've only recently nailed it tbh - but it's an option to consider.
Like Shadespyre has already said, you've done a great job of getting those lines straight and clean. Lovely stuff! The faces and fluttering banners are also great, they add a real dynamism
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic unit to kick off the army with. Those metal knight errants are wonderful sculpts and you've done a great job with the vibrant colours that we've come to expect from the defenders of the Lady. My personal favourites are the Green and the Yellow livery. Looking forward to se this force expand moving forward.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say?
ReplyDeleteA really cool project, made by a good friend.
This project has it all. Research into models, research into color schemes, and attention to detail.
Oldhammer in its purest form.
Neat and cool as usual, Filippo! great job!
ReplyDeleteLove the faces on these, and those clean colours. Great start!
