I did a nice 34 mans me-72 unit as shown here, it was quite easy, but even if it's not part of the army list i think it fits nicely as the nemesis of this mercenaries, as the border princes is full of necromancers fleeing prosecution that find refugee on the northern borrows.
After having used my painting day for those i doubted i ll finish this month so i kind of cheated and painted the only character of the army: Borgio. I knew i did not wanted him on a horse, i am getting bored of the horses. So i tried to put him in an old cold one (with the long seat), chaos hound (it looked a bit big) and a Scibor dog (it was too big now!). At the end i found a recently purchased citadel bear and he fit nicely. In total the Mercenary general with warhorse on bard, with heavy armour and great weapons is 120. (or 129 if you count the bear as a bear instead of armoured warhorse).
Then as i also needed to begin the next month i painted 2/3 of the estalians gunmen i had, next week i ll do the other 4... For 11 points each so 88. To arrive to 208. Tried to replicate as close as possible to a lot of new hand gunners i got (i total between both there is 24 estalian gunmen!)
So with that this month part has be done, hopefully next one i ll arrive to finish as soon as possible as i am at home only 7 days of the whole january.
Cool idea to mount Borgio on a bear! I really like how you've painted his mace. Is that a green marble effect?
ReplyDeleteit is just warpstone green over white. it had a nice unexpected effect as the first idea was to add after a second thin layer of the same color, but it looked fine like that.
DeleteI agree, it is a cool idea to mount him on a bear. The zombies are for something else?
ReplyDeleteyep they are but the undead army, but when they arrive i could not resist and painted them in a day! (kind of ignoring work a bit and puting it for the next day.)
DeleteHe looks fearsome!
