Ed's Border Prince Halberdiers - 208 points

I'm pleased to say that the most challenging installment is done and dusted. This month sees the arrival of 15 halberdiers including champion, standard bearer and drummer.

I've gone for a real mixed bag of a unit here; 4th edition Perry Empire models, Marauder Empire, dogs of war, fighters, men at arms and even townsfolk.

The plan was to have a real varied bunch, hailing from every reach of the Old World, seeking a better life.

The story so far - bit of a crap pic but it'll do

It's not the most detailed banner ever made but that's about the limit of my freehand. On the plus side I've always wanted to paint a halberdier unit so that's another thigh to draw a line under and I'll probably expand it at some later date.

  4. Lovely unit. The very epitome of an old school empire army. The centre of your battle line. Where is the drummer from? I don't recognise him.

    1. Cheers Colin. Selecting the right figures was a lot of fun. The drummer is from one of the townsfolk ranges. He was the one I sought after the most. He was an essential for this unit. Lovely fig to paint too.

    1. Thanks Brennan. I wasn't sure whether it would work at first but it gives the unit a nice mercenary feel.

  8. This is an outstanding unit. I have many of the models you used and had never thought of mixing them up in the manner you did. You've given me something to think about.
