April was about opening up more troop selections and adding a bit of variety to my over all force. First off I added 6 Lords Bowmen to increase my firepower and what better models to pick that Skarloc's archers. For me these guys are the very essence of Wood Elf archers. I would like to add Glam the Wardancer (I need to add him to my collection first) to the unit as well as the standard-bearer. I would like to make the unit 20 strong so that I can either run it as a large unit or two smaller units, each with a champion.
Next up on my painting list was 5 more Wardancers. What can I say, Wardancers are my favorite unit in Warhammer. They are the reason I collected Wood Elves back in the day. I love the image they envoke on the battlefield, that jumping, twirling, speed of blades flipping over the bow unit to hit the enemy that thought they were playing it safe picking on the bowmen. The two blade, white masked Elf is my all time favorite sculpt.
Last but not least is the beginnings of my Warrior Kinband. While not as nasty as Wardancers these guys can pack a punch and have some staying power in larger numbers. So this month I painted up my unit champion and four warriors.
I am pretty happy with my painting progress this month. Painting up a total of 16 Wood Elves for the month is not bad.
My total for this month not including the points for my champions is:
6 Lords Bowmen 72 points
5 Wardancers 115 points
5 Warrior Kinband 55 points
April total: 242 points
Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, & drinking. If you cheat, may you cheat death. If you steal, may you steal a woman's heart. If you fight, may you fight for a brother. And if you drink, may you drink with me.

Wow, I love those tree huggers.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and so prolific, I don't know how you do it!
ReplyDeleteThank you. 😬 It’s all about the airbrush start.
DeleteNice elves! Didn't know woodsies were into cheating, stealing, fighting and drinking, good to know! (reaching for a Jack & coke)
ReplyDeleteCheating the Dark Elves, stealing from the dirty goblins, fighting the invading humans, and drinking with the hairy footed Halfings.
DeleteOh ya they do it all.
Looking awesome!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. A totally different take on wardancers from me - I really like your muted aesthetic.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am up to 10 at the moment. They are so much fun to paint.
DeleteNice work. I really like the war dancers.
ReplyDeleteAs always your elves look very good. I like the white face that makes them look like wild picts or savages. Wardancers are favorite of me too but I will resist the wood elves temptation :) (I must)
