Rank & File #4
Okay so this month was yet again another giga struggle for me, but not for the usual reasons. It all started out nicely. I actually got my finger out and started about a week or so into the month and steadily progressed. Where it all went wrong really was that I had way more models to paint than I've ever done before in a month, mostly due to poor planning on my part. So I went into the last week still with loads to do. None of which was helped when a weekly storm front came in and triggered my seasonal migraines. So, yet again a bit of a nightmare!
Anyhow we made it over the finish line kicking a screaming so here we are:
Imperial Guard Squad - 112pts
- Chainsword, H. Bolter
Heavy Weapon Squad - 150pts
- Lascannon, 2 x Missile launcher
Sentinel - 75pts
The sentinel is one of my absolute favorites, an incredibly dumb looking sculpt that just epitomizes the 2 ed. era of daft looking models.
Before the wrap up post I've got to add the grass tufts and the bushes/moss to get ready for the army shot, but otherwise its a wrap. Looking forwards to seeing everyone's wrap up posts.
Peace out
Sam
The sentinel looks awesome dude, great work. An impressive output this month, I look forward to facing off against them in the hopefully not so distant future.
ReplyDeleteYeah for sure dude, I'll need to add the tanks before then though methinks...
DeleteGreat sentinel! Congratulations on finishing!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking unit of old school minis. The sentinel is indeed a silly design for a warmachine, but who cares - it looks so cool! Well done!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. I've always loved those Catachan sculpts (plasma gunner has always been my favourite) and the sentinel has a special place in my heart too.
ReplyDeleteThe more this OWAC has gone on the more I miss my old 40k stuff and wish I'd not gotten rid of it so recklessly.
Really looking forward to seeing the full army.
You've really converted me to the Catachans - tail end of Rogue Trader was really more my era. They look great and I've caught myself trawling ebay to acquire some of my own a few times during the challenge as a result!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing missing is a cowboy hat and tache for the Sentinel driver - he'd be a dead ringer for Blain then with that minigun ;)
Yeah I really love all the Perry twin IG sculpts they are fantastic, and the Catachans are steal most of the time as they were the first metals and have had numerous reruns.
DeleteThis army just sums up the brilliant ridiculousness of GW at this time. You've done a great job with them.
ReplyDeleteRed Period in Spades!! superb work. great job making it thru!
ReplyDeleteFlipping love the hazard striping on everything, but especially on the sentinel. Gold!
ReplyDeleteThe heavy weapons teams are always special too - in fact, great job all-round, especially considering the grind!
