Graeme's Formidable Fimir - June's Rank and File #4 (298 points)

Graeme's Formidable Fimir - June's Rank and File #4

Well, nothing really clicked in June and I struggled to complete anything. I eventually managed to finish the bare minimum for the last rank-and-file month.

Another last-minute rush delivered this rabble:

June's group

Dirach Wizard

1 Dirach (Level 10 wizard) : 113 pts

Hand weapon

Fianna Fimm warriors

5 Fianna Fimm (+3 Elite Warriors) :185 pts

Hand weapon, light armour

June total: 298 pts

Army total:         1228 pts

June:                 298 pts

May:                  388 pts

April                150 pts

March             202 pts

January:            190 pts

So, finishing on a whimper, instead of a bang. For the final army shot next month, I’m planning on doing some more work to finish off a handful of other models I started (and got frustratingly close to finishing).

  2. Sometimes "done" is all there is to say. Nicely, in this case.

    1. Cheers! Yeah, feels good to have made it. Bit of a concise post this month, since the batteries were on empty, More photos and details next month! :-)

    1. Thanks! The hot weather really gave me a few challenges - I just didn't feel I got the blending of colours as smooth this month. Glad you like them, though. Determined to get a few more finished for the wrap-up post! :-)

    1. Cheers! My inner critic gets a bit loud now and again, but they turned out okay, and I'm glad I got them done.
I suspect this army will keep growing for a while longer - they are challenging to paint, especially when they start showing their age, but really rewarding when you see the end result.

    1. I've become a much bigger fan of the Bibby sculpts over the course of this challenge. His models aren't always easy to paint, but if you hit the right formula, to show off their details, the results are pretty pleasing.

  6. They look great! As someone else who has struggled this past month, you've done a fine job.

  7. Finished is finished as they say, or in this case finished is a fully painted Fimir army. Congratulations.

  8. Cheers! This army is definitely going to grow! Another unit (or two) with some conversions would add a ton of character...

  9. Love the tone variation on the swampy skin tones of the Fimm and the Dirach. Solid addition to the sinister army. I know what you feel about June - lots of sun made it difficult to focus on the painting. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing the whole force!
