50 Shades of pink...
It has been a hell of a month but here they are, the Grabelings
In 3rd edition they are meant to be 9 per 1260pts... which seems a bit odd from where I stand because it makes no sense for rank and file units. Unless if they were meant to be accompanied by a separate hero.
Anyway here are 10 of them, with all their gloriously cartoonish faces. Those faces are absolutely wonderful to paint. There is just so much surface to work with. I will for sure paint another one on those, with more time on my hand, and bring it to another level.
Going throught the first part of this challenge has been hard. Real life came down on me pretty hard, and I did almost quit before even starting... But frankly, giving myself some freetime for my hobby, which I have rarely been doing over the past few years, has been a major relief. My wife, half supportive and half mocking, have been helping by taking on the kids at key moments. This first unit is certainly not the top of what I can achieve, but it is already better than the two I painted over the course of 2021! OWAC V, I'm ready for more!
Love the pink! I have that drummer too, it is my favorite horror!
ReplyDeleteClassics, and a nice job on the pinks, even if some do look like Chaos Goalkeepers... I think for a while each Chaos God had a number, and all their units were in multiples of that number? It was pretty annoying as most models were sold in blisters of 3 at the time, so collecting e.g. 7 Nurgle guys was inconvenient.
ReplyDeleteThat drummer rules, these are great!

ReplyDeleteWell done, got to say I feel sorry for the horn player!
ReplyDeleteGloriously grotesque! Well done for sticking in there!
ReplyDeleteI love old horrors, so many strange details - drummer is my favourite. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteGreat models, positively disturbing. Like the varying shades and added blues and violets for contrast. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThese turned out really well, but the most important thing was taking time out for yourself and spending it on something creative and productive. I hope you carry on making time and kicking real life to the curb for a bit! :)
ReplyDeleteNice start! They're lloking great. My other half allways jibes about me painting 'my little man'. Le sigh.
