Burning Inside!
I just can't wait to get around this challenege. And here it is, the other half of the Flaming Fongoids.
I had to go around the limited amount of different models I have by playing with colors, some sort of a variation on a same scheme. I actually kept the same wet pallet over the 2 months to make sure I stayed in line.
That champion is one of my favorite from the Jess Goodwin chaos champions, I would have kept licking paint for 8 more hours on it but I drew the line at this point;
Another one I really enjoyed working on was that flamer on monster skull. Out of the modern skull box, this piece is actually hollow so I had to pin the flamer throught it into the base to get a good stability... All it misses is one or 2 spiders with webs to top it off!
And finally, a group shot! Sadly my display board was not built to hold a 10 x 40mm bases unit. For sure I will come up with a solution before the end of this project!
Lovely selection of roasted mushrooms, LOL! Seriously, they look great!
ReplyDeleteNice combination of colours!
ReplyDeleteLovely colors on those fun guys! I particularly like the one on the far right with the big toothy smile in the blues and reds.
ReplyDeleteAll that licked paint has certainly paid off! Gorgeously done, the base work and colours really draw them together but not overwhelm their Chaotic individuality
ReplyDeletegreat stuff - those bases look 🔥! I'm with DarthRob - the toothy mushy on the right is my favourite also, although the champion is iconic and you've done a wonderfull job on him. (Congrats too, on drawing a line. Hard to do, but a pretty essential skill i think for keeping those high motivations!)
ReplyDeletenow that is a unit with some impact! Very old school, and a great use of that particular champion to both tie in with the sculpts, and elevate the status of the unit
ReplyDeleteThese are weird and fun :) thanks for this project, we don't get many deamon armies in OWAC
ReplyDeleteLovely variety and the 40mm bases works perfect in the end, probably much less craped than in 25mm
ReplyDeleteThese models are so much fun to look at, really enjoyed this entry!
