My second OWAC over!!!
|
Apologize, forget to do a pic just with miniatuers painted in this OWAC |
Well, it is over. It has been a harder OWAC than the first one due to some "real life stuff" and my hate to painting horses. "Real life stuff" is something you can´t avoid but why I decided to do a complete mount army on the OWAC...
I though the idea was "Just rip the band-aid off", and after an OWAC I have all my mounted units painted... I can say this after all 6 months but meanwhile I had the idea to quit off couple of times. First month was a good one but the second, third and fourth were a nightmare. Anyway, after the fourth month you can see the light at the end of the wood
Lets do a review
On 1st of January I have
|
The smile of a guy who doesn´t know the wall he is going to hit with... |
and now I have
|
Only 3 heroes of the previous pic hasn´t been painted but I added a General on a great horned horse |
I even did a short video (I was very happy indeed)

January- 6 x Glade riders (light armour + music + stardard bearer): 240
February - 5 x Glade riders (light armour + long bow): 185

I have a big bunch of bad pics of the current state of my wood elves army (I forget to do it just for this OWAC!!!) and I have selected the "best" of them...
What else can I said? Can´t wait to start next OWAC because I´m getting close to paint all my elves...
Thanks so much for the support and congratulations to all OWAC participant, especially the ones who have finished it
OMG, Mariano - what a fantastic looking army and a massive accomplishment! A whole 6 months of horses and NMM, you absolute madman. That army shot is a pic for the ages :) 💪
ReplyDeleteSplendid! You made it, 38 horses!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely sublime! Every bit of suffering was worth it, you've produced one of the best armies in the OWAC. Some of the best wood elves I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! They look lovely! I am very happy you didn't quit!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous stuff. And all horses? Man that's insane dedication.
ReplyDeleteStunning, enough said
ReplyDeleteFor the second year running, you've dazzled us with great miniatures. You might hate painting horses, but you've done a grand job of it
ReplyDeleteYour work keep getting better, I am really interested in your next project!
ReplyDeleteWonderful army. Incredibly impressive to see such a high standard throughout, from trooper to generals. Inspiring work.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous I could spit. This is incredible work.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you stuck through it! As a felow (former) wood elf challenger I am SOOOOOO jealous of all of your cavalry. A beautiful OWAC force to be proud of! Congratulations on making it through to the end!
ReplyDeleteWonderful example of a Wood Elf army, that really needs to grace a battlefield as soon as possible!
ReplyDeleteI really regret not being able to complete the challenge this year after seeing your glorious cavalry. I know how much work they take, but you went the extra mile to include all the conversions, to give the units more flavour.
You've set the bar very high with these, and given all the Wood Elf players a lot of motivation to get their own army painted.
