The champion here was great fun to paint, I've always loved the Realms-era champions and this one is a glorious oddball. He has a very skinny waist, and so the chunky Rogue Trader backpacks seemed to unbalance him a bit. I searched around for a replacement, and settled on a modern Possessed backpack, since it's suitably compact and the eyeball-stalks have an appropriately Tzeenchian look. With the rest of the squad, I tried to create gritty front-line sloggers, without some of the vibrance of my more elite units.
Yeah! These are great! You definitely captured the Tzeentchian vibe for the champ, which prompts interesting thoughts about the Iron Warriors relationship with the four powers. A Tzeentchian alien robot-esque champion brings loads of character and possibilities for fun wargear and gifts etc. as he climbs the ranks :D
