Ian McMurray's Goblins - Rank and File 1& 2 (210 points)

“Hunger drives the wolf out of the wood.”

– German Proverb.

This month I achieved my rank and file goal for February and March: 20 goblin wolf riders. I have now an extra month to rest... or paint more miniatures for my army.

The wolves were quite easy and quick to paint. It took me about 20 hours to finish all of them.  You will find the links for my methods at the end of this post. The goblins were a challenge. They look simple but they have many details. I took my time with each of them to apply many layers of details, even though I am no master painter! Just for the skin, eyes, noses, fingernails... it's about 20 different steps. So I am very proud to have complete all of them a few hours before the deadline!

I did a unit of 10 wolf riders with spears and shields (110 points) and a unit of 10 with bow (100 points). Maybe I will add a banner on the pole later on.

Here they are all together:

Here's the army at the end of February:

  • Grom and Niblet in chariot: 257 points
  • 10 goblin wolf riders with bow: 100 points
  • 10 goblin wolf riders with spear and shield: 110 points

TOTAL: 467 points

Peace. Please.

  1. Looking good! Love the colour variations of the wolves. And to be honest I don't think I've ever painted a finger nail on anything smaller than an ogre? That's dedication! :)

    1. Thank you so much! Yeah, I am very picky about details. I try to paint bunch of miniatures, building an army quickly but I always end up doing a lot of details and taking my time because I want every miniature to be good by itself.
