After a busy February of painting 20 wolves and 20 goblin wolf riders, I was expecting March to be quite easy with "only" 2 goblin wolf chariots to paint... Only a total of 6 goblins, 2 chariots and 4 wolves to do. Well, I was wrong. It was quite a rush to finish them on the last day of March. Motivation is starting to wane. Anything but painting goblins was more attractive in my spare time. Painting goblins, only goblins (with wolves but those are quite easy and quick to paint), for months can be demoralizing.
Anyway, here's the result:
Here's the army at the end of March:
- Grom and Niblet in chariot: 257 points
- 10 goblin wolf riders with bow: 100 points
- 10 goblin wolf riders with spear and shield: 110 points
- 2 goblin chariots with scythed wheels: 180 points
TOTAL: 647 points
It all looks great, though! But yes, I am seriously considering an army with a bigger range of skin tones and troops for my next project.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am thinking about a colorful chaos army for the next challenge…
DeleteDon't get too demoralised! These look great and a massive horde of gobbos at the end of it is a worthy prize for your efforts! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI am with you about the same colors all the time, but goblins are so cute! Chariots are hard, but look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lissanne!
DeleteGreat work. Though you may find the wolves easy, I think yours stand out -- great work. Same for the goblins. Even if you;re tired of them. But... you have only yourself to blame for the choice of goblins. ;P
ReplyDeleteSeriously, keep going. The army is looking great!
Thank you for your kind words. Yep, I blame myself every day I take my brush and contemplate the next goblin to paint!
DeleteSome nicely observed pelt colouring for those wolves! I'll be bookmarking that. Really nice to see the force grow like this - you've done a great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Benjamin, I really appreciate your comment!
DeleteSweet! Lovely work on the wolves especially - very naturalistic with nice gradients. March was a hard month, but you made it through with two cracking warmachines, and you already have a big force. Looking forward to more gobbos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Maciek for the compliments!
DeleteSeconded for the wolf pelts, they look really natural - a lovely gradient there :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're slowly building the dream for quite a few O&G players. Everyone must've written up a list of a mounted army back in the day! Great work sir - keep it up!
