Lissanne's Bloodbowl- the Eldorado Goldiggers (month 1)

Skye Pilot, a cleric to Duri, had a vision from his god, 'If you build it, they will come!'  And come they did,   In our D&D world, in the humble town of Breadwinner, there is a Bloodbowl stadium, built by the cleric Skye Pilot to his god.  He formed the first team Duri's Hooligans (orcs) , and lo and behold, more teams came.  Several seasons of BB have passed since its inception in our game world, but here is the newest team to join the ranks, the Eldorado Goldiggers!  Also called The Blues by the other teams because of the color of their uniforms. They were organized and sent to compete by the fighter lord Herculina Goldenbeard from the nearby town of Eldorado to fight for her glory, and all are seeking to gain her notice!  Most of them are hopeful suitors, even though she is happily married!

Here are the recruits:

Herculina's brother, Ajax Goldenbeard, and her husband Gladstone Goldenbeard.

Sven and Sven, the Troll Slayers.  They run a bar in their off time.

Doughty fighters Sir Lionel the Tall  & Darn Ironbeard

Liability & Mortgage, recruits who are bankers, recently injured.  Not doughty fighters

And last but not least, Wolfram the Mighty a blitzer, and Sherman Tank. I am using white lines to denote the blitzers on the team.  Uniform numbers don't work, nor numbers on the bases.  It is an ongoing problem!

And the obligatory back shot!

And what would the blog be without the virgin match for the Goldiggers?
Here is the Eldorado Goldiggers (dwarves) vs Duri's Hooligans (orcs).    Please note a lot of these models are not OWAC entries, but it's hard to hold a game with 10 figures!

Ref of the day- Willie Grabbit tossing the opening coin

Here are the Orc Cheerleaders

And the beautiful Dwarven Cheerleader

It was a beautiful day, the stands in the temple full of screaming fans busy getting drunk. The Goldiggers elected to receive, but the Hooligans kick was so bad, it went offside. I don't think they take the dwarves seriously.  A lucky break!

The Goldiggers got to place the ball, and surrounded the carrier in a circle formation.  They successfully knocked down a couple of Black orcs, until an overeager Sir Lionel was knocked down.  Turn went to the Orcs!

The fallen orcs stood up and did nothing else but tie up the dwarf formation.  Then the notorious Hooligan blitzer, Killa Watts, ran right into one of the Svens, but only succeeded in pushing him back.  However, this left an opening, into which the wily orc thrower went.  Why the thrower?

Because Bomber the blitzer and a helpful lineman were busy kicking the fallen Sir Lionel instead of running after the ball carrier.  Poor Lionel! He had to be taken off the field and was out for the day. Cleric!  One turn and it is not going well for the Goldiggers.

If you readers enjoy this BB game report, and I'm not boring you to tears, I will finish it next blog and continue to do them for the teams in action as I paint them!  They are a LOT more time consuming than I thought they would be tho....

If I didn't mention before, my friends and I only play blue book/3rd edition teams, so I am sticking to the old standards.  There are a lot of them!

Next month:  Goldigger star players and the rest of the Queen's Marauders (chaos)   And those dwarves I couldn't find last month that I am turning into star players as we speak!

  1. Love the blue colour, and the white hair stripes on the slayer! And I'm always envious of the power to clip of weapons to make BB players, something always hold me back! Great job anyhow, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the match report - used to be a favour tactic of mine, the old orc turtle!

  8. Top fun! The idea of putting bloodbowl in your D&D game is peak 90's gaming mash up craziness nostalgia for me. The names are great too - yes please to more battle reports.
