It's Leader Month for me, so I've painted a little command group.
The Warsmith (a Chaos Lord) 91 points
Fabius Bile (a Chaos Champion) 58 points
Army Standard Bearer 55 points
Chaos Sorcerer 52 points
A bit of a challenge to paint each of them. There's a lot of detail going on and I was adapting paint schemes on the fly. They're all pretty distinct, but hopefully they complement each other fairly well. Quite proud of the two bare faces, I was learning a new method for those.
Great colours - I don’t think I've seen a rainbow chaos star before - and those faces look really good. I'd say the new technique worked 🙂
ReplyDeleteThanks! That combination of colours appears in old Warhammer Fantasy Battles background, representing the different schools of magic that flow from the realms of Chaos. Saw it painted like that on Arkhan the Black's staff back in the 90s, wanted to recreate it. Haven't seen it mentioned in 40k background, but Chaos is Chaos across all worlds, and I think it's a colourful way to signify a Chaos Undivided warband.
DeleteNice! The green on the sorcerer's face is excellent - I think your colour placement is spot on :)
ReplyDeleteRainbow Chaos Star forever !!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the rainbow chaos symbol. And I am about to start on Fabius (for myself) thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAnother +1 for the rainbow Chaos star - it speaks to me of both Tzeentch and Chaos Undivided. Nice work on these characters all round but my fav is actually the War Smith.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind comments! And it won't be the last rainbow Chaos star for this project...
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff! The sorcerer's sword is particularly well done!
