Hi All,
Once again I've somehow managed to take this down to the wire. I should have been able to finish these pretty easily, but I haven't
These are five plastic Knights of the Realm circa 1996, so 5th edition? I used Perfect Plastic Putty to try and fill all the seam gaps in the horses. I need to work out a better way to apply and sand in tight spaces. They are a 15th Level Hero (Viscomte) (91points) an four Knights (124points) for a total of 215 points. In game terms they only have Heavy Armor and Lances.
The idea was to have these guys have fancier heraldry than the bog standard knights. To that end I was going to use the water slide decals. After attempting the first one I scrapped that idea. I don't have all the necessary micro sol, micro set and some of those caparisons are too folded and curvy for someone of my abilities to do it well.
The army as it stands now. 4 +4 elite knights led by a 15th Level Hero (215), 1 +1 Elite Knight (25), 9 Foot Knights lead by a 5th level Hero (123), 15 Peasants with Bows (60), 20 Brigands (198).
A total of 621 points of Bretonnians. Huzzah!
Truly awesome work Sean! They absolutely look the part
ReplyDeleteWOW! that is one excellent looking force there Sean! the Knights look really spectacular!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful Sean. I always love seeing spiral painted lances and these are right up there for quality, so neat and regular. You have a very imposing force growing here!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive!!!
ReplyDeleteSean these are looking very good! Impressive my man!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the barberpoles! Wonderful detail all around!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. As usual I focused on the problems while doing these. I find I hate how they look until about the 2nd or 3rd to last steps in my process. I thought you all would like the barber pole lances. It just says fussy knight to me.
ReplyDeleteStunning work Sean! The group shot looks the business. Bonus points for the spiral lances!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed, I felt like the lances had to be extra fancy.
DeleteThat is one fine looking army. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anthony.
DeleteVery good, nice contrast with the brigands
ReplyDeleteThanks you Arjen. I definitely wanted the Brigands to look dark and grubby by comparison.
DeleteThanks Xin.
