Quin’s Lizardmen of the Black Marsh - The Rise of Thurgix - (272 Points)

 Rank & File Month #2

“Ssssssssskkeeeeeeee!” Sauriv cries as his blade falls with tremendous force and splits the shambling man in half, then hastily marching up the muddy hills of the outermarsh and with a wild swing of ol’ trusty, Sauriv crushes half a dozen skeletons- a true master of combat. His troops become occupied by a smattering of nasty zombies when Sauriv spots the villain behind this assault, a damn dirty drow elf necromancer. With anger in his eyes, Sauriv uses his body to its maximum potential and is able to slaughter the witch before she could say, “—“. Examining the corpse of the drow came to nothing conclusive to Sauriv, yet still he decided to keep her belongings to give his master Umbraxakar. The lizardmen carry the putrid corpses back to their pit of abomination where food is offered to Him and the rotten meat is discarded and taken back to the warriors. The feast begins and Sauriv gobbled down meat, as he hadn’t had a meal in nearly two moon cycles. He bites into the fetid foot of a corpse, as he does the brittle bone shatters and shoots into the swamp air, also directly into Sauriv’s right eye. Even years later his eye won’t open. - the tale of how Sauriv came into the possession of the moniker “Thurgix”.

This month I decided to paint my first unit of lizardmen equipped with spears, led by the battle hardened Thurgix Sauriv, a level 5 Bonecracker. I was very excited to start painting the models that inspired me to collect this army, and they were a joy to paint. Tom did lots of the work with all of the tiny details on these critters, the rest was mostly dry brushing.

  2. I was tempted to go down this road myself, their great little miniatures with bags of character and plenty of detail, you can spend abit of time on to make them stand out, keep up the good work.
