George's Space Dwarfs - Rank & File, month V

The orc siege had drained the dwarfs of Grimshaft. Their resolve was strong, but their losses had been colossal.

They had made some gains, but victory still seemed impossibly far off.

Until one day the shafts and tunnels began to shake. Then with a deadly grind a vehicle of vast proportions crushed the orc's front line. Multiple cannon poured fire upon the besieging greenskins, cutting through Boyz and their armour until they fled.

The dwarfs rose up behind their leviathan and drove for victory.

As a kid I always loved EPIC squat vehicles. They were huge, bristling with guns and just so dwarfish! I wanted to recreate that for my OWAC army.

I spent some time looking for the best option. Ramshackle Games produce a brilliant land train that is very similar to the EPIC version. One day when I finally grow up and have space I would love one, but for now I needed something a bit more storage friendly! So I researched historic options.

Eventually I stumbled upon the T35 soviet tank - the "land battleship'. A truly mad creation, I don't think the T35 saw much action due to it's lack of manoeuvrability, but the Oldhammer Universe has no such practical limitations!

Next step: finding a model of the T35. Understandably there aren't many, but I tracked down a 3D printing company who specialise in WWII oddities and snapped one up.

I must say, I didn't love painting this model. Compared to the wonderful sculpts from Ironclad, Ramshackle and Macrocosm, it just lacked the crisps details and character. But the colour scheme works ok and I think it looks pretty good as a beast at the centre of the army.

I had no idea how to cost this up, so I used points for a landraider (similar number of guns!)

So onwards into the final month. Looking forward to more painting!
